FAQs

  • I provide online counseling to individuals residing in Washington DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

  • Surprisingly, yes! Many of my clients actually prefer it. Virtual therapy cuts out the inconvenience of commute time and allows for greater scheduling flexibility for clients.

Virtual therapy offers a modern and accessible option for individuals from the comfort of their own space. I am able to see clients residing in Washington DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania for telehealth appointments.

Online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, I have witnessed the profound and life-changing effects of therapy experienced virtually. My clients juggle a lot in their busy lives and appreciate the benefit of virtual sessions - giving them the ability access the support they need easily and in a convenient manner.

  • Clinically, I have found that therapy is most effective when consistency is involved. Change occurs in the context of intentionality, consistency and through the investment of time.

I ask clients to commit to meeting on a weekly basis for the first 6 sessions. At that time, we can reassess to determine if you continue to need that level of frequency and adjust according to your treatment needs.

  • Therapy is an investment in yourself and your future relationships. My fees are as follows:

    $200 - 50 minute therapy session

    $375 - 90 Minute Couples Follow-Up Session

$750 - 3 Hour Extended Individual Session (Available upon request).

**Please see Intensive section for Intensive Package pricing.

  • I am considered an out-of-network provider for your insurance panel and do not work directly with insurance companies. Clients pay directly for their sessions at the time service is rendered.

For individual therapy, I provide a monthly superbill which you are able to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Many clients I work with receive 25%-90% of their sessions reimbursed after they meet their insurance deductible. I encourage all clients to contact their insurance company to find out what their out-of-network mental health benefits are.

Choosing to work with a private pay therapist offers several benefits to clients, including:

+Enhanced Privacy and Confidentiality: As a private pay therapist, your confidentiality is a top priority. Insurance companies require a diagnosis and need to deem treatment medically necessary. With a private pay therapist, your information remains securely within the therapeutic relationship meaning your sessions and progress stay between us.

+Increased Flexibility and Choice: As a private pay therapist I am able to tailor treatment to meet your individual needs as opposed to needing to work within the confines of insurance mandates. This means that you receive therapy that is more personalized and tailored specifically to you and your goals.

+Customized Treatment Approach: Without the constraints of insurance we are able to choose treatment modalities that best align with your unique goals, preferences and lifestyle. This flexibility allows for a more unique therapy experience geared towards best meeting your needs.

Of note, I do provide monthly super bills which can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have OON Mental Health Benefits. I also accept HSA/FSA.

  • Due to the individual nature of each insurance plan, the best way to find this out is to call the number listed on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:

Do I have “out-of-network” coverage to see a mental health provider or only “in-network” coverage?

Do I have to meet a deductible, if so what is that deductible?

What percentage of an out-of-network provider’s fee will be reimbursed?

  • Next Era Therapy accepts major credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA payments via the client portal.

Clients are required to add their preferred payment method prior to their first session, which will be used for all services unless the client requests to change their payment method.

  • I have a standard 24-hour cancellation fee for cancelling or rescheduling. If I do not receive 24-hour notice for a canceled or rescheduled session, you will be charged the full fee for the session. Because your time slot is reserved specifically for you, it is a time designated and held for you specifically. Less than 24 hours does not allow my to fill the time slot. I appreciate you understanding.

Please note that Intensive Sessions are subject to a 72 hour cancellation policy due to the time commitment involved.
